Trade Nation is regulated by the FSCA in South Africa, so they are legit. The FSCA issued Trade Nation a Financial Service Provider (FSP) license number 49846.
However, Trade Nation cannot act as market maker because they are not authorized to function as an Over-the-counter Derivative Provider (ODP).
Trade Nation is also present internationally; they are regulated by the FCA in the United Kingdom and by the ASIC in Australia.

You can trade the markets using Spread Betting or CFDs at Trade Nation.
1. Forex CFDs & Spread Bet
35+ FX pairs are on the menu for trading and these include major, minor & exotics.

Trade Nation Fees - 8/10
1. Spread
When trading spread bets, you get access to fixed spreads. EUR/USD spread is fixed at 0.3 pips at 7:00 am in the morning and also between 5 & 10:00 pm in the evening.
However, between the hours of 8:00 am & 4:00 pm, EUR/USD spread is fixed at 0.6 pips.
You also get fixed spreads when spread betting on all other instruments offered by Trade Nation.
Trade Nation also offers variable spreads from 0.6 pips on CFD trading only. If you are trading spread bets you do not get access to variable spread pricing.
2. Withdrawal Fees
Yes, Trade Nation charges a processing fee when you are withdrawing small amounts of money.
3. Inactivity Fees
No, Trade Nation does not charge inactivity fees but dormant accounts that have not placed an OTC trade for 180 consecutive days will be closed. Any balance in a closed account should be withdrawn within 28 days or it will be donated to a charity of your choice.
4. Overnight Fees
Keeping your CFD trades open till the next day will attract overnight fees.

How to Open an Account at Trade Nation
Step 1: Register & Create a Profile
Visit the Trade Nation website & click on signup then enter your email address & password, then click on signup.
Select your country of residence & nationality then proceed ro verify your phone number.
Step 2: Select Your preferred trading Platform
You are made to choose the TN Trader platform by default & this platform also gives you access to TradingView.
Step 3: Choose your Account Currency
In this step you can choose between the ZAR or USD base currency. This will be your account currency & cannot be changed after this.Step 4: Answer A few Questions on your Financial Experience
Here, you will be asked questions about your employment status, source of funds, investing experience etc.Step 5: ID Verification
Upload your South African government issued means of identification that shows your full date of birth & submit.

1. TN Trader Platform
This platform is meant for spread betting and you need to open a TN Account to be able to use it.
2. MT4
The MT4 platform is meant for CFD trading only. Trade Nation does not have MT5 unfortunately.
3. TradingView
Trade Nation is a TradingView broker so you can use your TN login details to access the TradingView platform for free. Trade Nation only permits CFD trading via TradingView so you cannot spread bet on TradingView.
How To Connect Trade Nation to TradingView
Log in to TradingView
Visit the TradingView website, click on sign in and you get the option to sign in with your Google Account, Apple Account, LinkedIn Account, X Account, or email. elect any sign in method to proceed.
Choose an instrument to trade
To select an instrument to trade on TradingView, click on Markets and then select any instrument of choice.
Navigate To Super Charts
After choosing an instrument to trade, opt to view the instrument on Super Charts by clicking on the "see on super charts" button.
Open Trading Panel
To see a list of brokers on TradingView, click on Trading Panel.
Proceed to expand the trading panel by clicking on the expand icon by the bottom far right hand side.
Choose Your Broker
After the trading panel opens, you will see a list of all the forex brokers on TradingView.
Locate Trade Nation on the list and connect with your broker details.

Trade Nation is our forex broker with the lowest spread in South Africa but it is not for beginners and we only recommend them for expert traders.

Trade Nation spreads are really low which i like. Their customer support before account opening is bad but after account opening it is very good. They just need to offer more account currencies in addition to the EUR, USD, & GBP which they currently offer.
Best MT4 platform i have used. It adjusts the time on the charts to your country's timezone. I am also enjoying the customer service and tight spreads. To be honest Trade Nation is better than i had expected. Initially i had troubles setting up my account but once that hurdle was cleared it was a breeze all the way
super cool spreads!!! my gosh i didnt know what i was missing. I also love the TradingView integration, its superb !!
Mobile app is trash, demo account comes with limited funds which cannot be adjusted. The only good thing about trade nation is their low spread but everything else is bs
everyone is complaining about their account opening procedure and i have had a bad experience too. They require too many documents to open an account: bank statement, bank confirmation letter, etc. They even require you do a video for facial verification wth!!!
Their TN platform freezes during peak market hours and sometimes it takes ages to login. These login delays cost me money because the market moves against me while I am waiting for their platform to log me in
Best broker I have seen in my 5 years of trading forex. I love that there is no minimum withdrawal and even though withdrawal fees apply, it is still better because I can withdraw any amount I want. More brokers should be like TN

Been trading with them for 4 years now and I have not had any major issues except some delays in deposit hitting my trading account. Trade Nation has some of the best platforms out there and their customer service is top notch
I came to Trade Nation because of their fixed spread and since then I have not been disappointed. They should try and extend the fixed spread to CFD trading and not just spread betting
